Multiple Store Trips or Price Matching?

If you live in the Houston area you know this is the area of no doubles or triples except at Randall's. Since Kroger stopped doubling coupons I have found myself shopping more and more at HEB, mainly because it is closer. But of course looking at the different ads I would see stuff on sale at the many stores around that really caught my eye.

Last night I decided to do a complete shopping trip at Wal-mart and price match all the others stores loss leaders for one stop shopping. Thanks to Christy Cree from the Hot Coupon World facebook page who turned me onto this great search engine for store deals, I was able to not only see the stores I get the circulars for but also other stores in my area to be able to price match even more.

You basically put in your zip code and can either shop by item or store circulars in your area to see what is on sale where. Keep in mind, I found it does not show all the sales items at the stores, so in addition to this you can go to the stores website and check out the ad online.

Once you know what items you want to price match you can make a list of each item with the price you want to match and the store you are matching. This makes it easier when you are checking out vs thumbing through numerous inserts to find what you are looking for. You do NOT have to have the ad with you to price match either. You can check out Wal-mart price match policy here, I suggest printing it out and taking it with you to avoid any issues when checking out. You can also find a copy of their coupon policy here, again I suggest printing it out and taking it with you. I was surprised to read in the coupon policy that if the price of the coupon is over the price of the item that they actually give the excess towards your purchase. You can also find a link to both policies here.

All in all it worked out pretty good for me. I saved over $50 on coupons and close to another $50 by price matching 7 different stores. Not to mention the money I saved on gas by not having to drive to those 7 stores. I think many shoppers are switching to this new way of shopping since Wal-mart has become more coupon friendly. I know I will be doing this again the next time I need to shop.

FREE Produce? Yes you can!

I have been juicing the past several days and one thing I love in my juice is carrots.

You can take the quiz at Earthbound Organics, and if you score high enough you will get a coupon for $1 off any EBF product.

Wal-mart, among other stores, carry the carrots for 97¢ a bag, making them FREE after coupon. You can print it twice for two free bags.
