Great Deal at YMCA

Okay with only 3 more days left until summer break I was getting worried about the high price of keeping my kids from being bored all summer. We don't have a neighborhood pool and the park is very basic for even elementary age kids. Gym memberships are through the roof, summer camps don't really cater to Jr High and High school kids.
I decided to check out my local YMCA. We had been members several years ago, but the kids were too young to be left alone for the day and I always had to be with them, which didn't always work since I have a real job too. I found out some awesome things! They (my youngest two) are now both old enough to be there by themselves. They can go as many days as they want, no limits. They can use the pool and work out rooms. They can take classes for a reduced fee. My oldest (a full time college student) also can join in as a "kid" vs "adult" so I get a better rate!
It works out to $70 a month for the four of us, one adult and kids, at our local Y. Of course there are other plans, like if you want to be able to go to any Y in the city, and they even have scholarships if your income is less than $50K. And if I get there before Monday I will save the normal $100 family registration fee too!
