This is the abc13.com Houston Texans Cheerleader Blog!
Don't think we're finished putting up Houston Texans Cheerleader tryout photos just yet. Forget the upcoming draft day. Today we're looking at dance day!

See pictures from Krista's win and performance with the cheerleaders
From before the vote was announced, the exciting moment and the post performance, we have plenty of images of Krista and the finalists from the big event.

We caught up with Krista, in her new uniform, and talked to her about the win.
Hello Everyone,
Time is flying! The last three weeks have gone by pretty quickly since finding out I was selected as a finalist to compete for the 35th spot on the "Houston Texans Cheerleading Squad".
In addition to interviewing with ABC-13 on several occasions, I've managed to create & pass out flyers, get out mass e-mails, send text messages, sign a few autographs as "Miss Texas United States" (at my favorite dessert boutique) and even squeeze in an online radio interview with "Crescent City Radio" (a station located close to the university that I graduated from "TULANE UNIVERSITY"). I also even got a chance to get on the phone with the Tom Joyner Morning Show to get their VOTES!!!
Special thanks to my family, friends, co-workers, fans & supporters for getting in the VOTES & spreading the word to everyone, everywhere.
Thank you so very much for your support & kind words!
Jennifer ("Miss Texas United States")
I went on air on ESPN 97.5 FM The Ticket yesterday and it was a blast! The best part about going on this show was that I was able to reach out to all the sports fanatics out there, especially our beloved Houston Texans fans!
I know everyone is excited to have a part in choosing who takes the 35th spot on the team. With that being said, I think that the big supporters such as season ticket holders, sponsors, and die-hard fans should be well informed of this opportunity. So I was stoked to be the one to go on air to promote the Fan Vote, and throw out a couple more pleas to 'VOTE FOR KELLI'!
I am so excited about tomorrow! I want to thank all of my family and friends for working so hard with me to get people voting, and especially those that didn't even know me before now, who supported me and made a huge difference!
Kelli
This entire experience has been pretty amazing :) and I know I will never forget any of it!
I have gotten to be on T.V.and in my hometown newspaper; which is pretty cool!
Thursday I actually got invited to go and promote myself at the Offshore Technology conference held at Reliant Stadium. I'm pretty excited about it since it is our last full day of voting and this opportunity will give me the chance to meet a lot of people.
I never thought when I started tryouts I would be able to add so many wonderful memories and accomplishments to my life and I am truly greatful for it! Thank you so much to all the people who have been voting and supporting me!!
Krista
I have been busy traveling across the Houston-area. From east to west. Why? Well I wanted to meet the finalists in their own setting. I met some at work, some at home.
Either way, I think we all get to know the individual Houston Texans cheerleader finalist a lot better.
I was at Jennifer's house where she showed off her pageant pictures and trophies. WATCH VIDEO
Kelli met me poolside where we talked marketing strategy. WATCH VIDEO
I found Krista at work where she showed me how her office knows how to party, plus how she has lots of Marines voting for her. WATCH VIDEO
Make sure to watch all these videos.
Good news. It's Wednesday so we only have a few more days until the weekend and I just posted new finalist pictures and video. So now you can view new photos and a new video of Jennifer, Krista and Kelli!
Go tell all of your friends. Plus make sure to come back tomorrow for even more new stuff!
How am I getting people to vote for Kelli? Well, I will say that it has been quite a task, trying to get the word out for people to vote for me, but I've had some help with my family, friends and co-workers, who have been extremely supportive.
I've been asking everyone to spread the word on to their to co-workers, classmates, customers, etc. I've been utilizing my email lists, and those of everyone around me, and asking people to keep forwarding them on. I've flooded my poor myspace friends with bulletins, messages and comments! Fortunately, they have been very receptive to them, and have helped promote this voting process.
I am going on air on ESPN 97.5 FM, at 4:40PM, May 7th to promote myself and the Texans Cheerleaders, so if you are close to a radio check me out, it should be fun!
Kelli
Hi fellow Houston Texans Fans:
WOW!!! I've been keeping very busy these days and working extremely hard at getting as many VOTES as possible.
ABC-13 visited my home on Monday afternoon for a quick interview and to get some extra footage of my past accomplishments with cheer leading & dance (for you "the FANS" to learn more about me).
In addition to spreading the word to get more votes coming in, I've been keeping active (as always) but never too busy to check back with you and sincerely thank you for all of the support you've shown to all three of us on the blogs.
I've been doing my all to help bring awareness to the contest and to get the word out to as many TEXANS FANS as possible. It's getting more exciting each day and I can't wait until Friday.
Each of us would make a great Texans Cheerleader but again I'm asking for your VOTE to become the 35th member of the 2008 "Houston Texans Cheerleading Squad"! Don't forget to log on daily & check back for updates as each of us will continue to share with you more of who we are and why we want to become your next Houston Texans Cheerleader! So keep spreading the word to everyone you know to VOTE!
Come On HOUSTON!!! Let's Go TEXANS!!!
Thanks for logging on & showing your support!
Jennifer ("Miss Texas United States")
Right after I found out that I was in the Fan Vote, I immediately called everyone I knew and sent out mass emails and text messages to start getting the word out.
Then my mom and I started working on a flyer to hand out and put up everywhere! My friend Kylee also made me a flyer which was really sweet :) This past weekend I went and handed out flyers to everyone I met and a few places said they would post my flyers up during the entire week of voting, which was wonderful!!
Next I called and reminded my brother who's in the Marines to tell ALL of his guys to start voting! It is so crazy how many people are actually taking part in the voting process. I have had so many people recognize me out places and it's only Tuesday!
I really appreciate all the votes and comments from my loved ones and even people I don't know. It makes me feel pretty special that I have so much support from people all around.
This week has been so exciting already and I can't wait for Friday!
Krista
It's actually quite funny watching myself on TV, especially with friends, because they don't hold back on the jokes!
We recorded the news segments from the 4th and the 5th, and we just sit and watch and laugh at how nervous I look! It's definitely a bit surreal as well, because this past week of waiting for the voting to start has been so long and stressful.
So when I finally got in front of a camera, it hit me that it had finally begun!
I'm so excited for this week! IS IT FRIDAY YET?
Kelli
Wow, so last night and today have been amazing!
At first it was weird watching myself on T.V. but as the show went on I just got more excited about the whole thing. We recorded both last nights show and this mornings and I have watched it about a million times haha.
It was great getting to meet Don and the rest of the news crew. I was pretty nervous before going on air since it was our first live interview, but right before it went live we got to talk to Don and he was really funny and made me feel comfortable, which always helps!
I feel so lucky to have this opportunity and getting this wonderful experience.
Krista
Hello fellow Houston Texans Fans,
This has been an unbelievable experience and (may I add) a VERY exciting journey for me! It's great to know just how many fans and supporters are just as excited about the contest as we (the finalists) all are.
I am so honored to have been selected as one of the three TALENTED finalists to have the opportunity to become part of the 2008 Houston Texans Cheerleading Squad. It's been so much fun taking this road with the other finalists (Kelli & Krista). I've had such a great time already and am looking forward to this Friday (when the FANS make their final selection of who will get the 35th spot on the squad). I'm ANXIOUS, EXCITED & NERVOUS (all at one time) LOL :-) It has been a BLAST.
I've already done so much work and media with both the Texans & KTRK-TV (ABC-13). Everyone has been really nice and helpful.
The following is just an an idea of what we've been up to aside from preparing for the final selection:
(1) We have already taken professional Houston Texans Cheerleading photos
(2) worn one of the offical cheerleading uniforms for the photo shoot
(3) featured on the Texans website, ABC website and ABC-13 news (and the best is yet to come for one of us).
I know it won't be easy for you ("THE FANS") to pick only one of us as your favorite cheerleader, but I ask that you please VOTE for me to become your next Houston Texans Cheerleader as I will represent the "Houston Texans" with pride, wearing my "Deep Steel BLUE, Battle RED, and Liberty WHITE on the Texans field. I have the ambition, drive & energy behind it!
VOTE FOR ME!
Thanks,
Jennifer ("Miss Texas United States")

Here is a vote you can cast that makes a real difference. That's right, your vote fills the last remaining open slot on the 2008 Houston Texans cheerleader squad!

Keep coming back, we're adding more videos of the girls all week!

Don't think I'm through with you yet either. Keep checking back here for more photos.

I wasn't joking when I told you I took a lot of cheerleader pictures. So here are Wednesday's photos from this past weekend's Houston Texans cheerleader tryouts.

On Monday we unleashed the first batches of photos from last weekend's Houston Texans cheerleader tryouts. Don't worry, more are coming each day this week! Keep coming back!
You know us. abc13.com has brought you photos from Houston Texans Cheerleader Tryouts for years now. And 2008 is no different.
I took thousands of photos and will be posting many of them in the next few days. Keep checking this blog for more updates.
In the meantime, here are some photos from Saturday.
Hey Houston! My name is Vanessa and I'm pumped up to be trying out for the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. This dance/cheer team is a unique, classy group of girls that represent the National Football League very well. My experience today has been amazing! I've met a lot of new friends and learned great dances. There are 4 rounds the first day. I've made it to round 3. I just danced and am waiting for the results. (Keep you fingers crossed). If you love dancing, cheering and football, I encourage you to tryout for the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. They're AWESOME! Hopefully I'll see everybody at the games next season! GO TEXANS!
I just completed my 2nd year as a Texans Cheerleader. I'm very thankful for the past two years as well as the opportunity to come tryout for another season.
Ashley
This round had a high impact, high energy dance. It was awesome. Although I was extremely nervous because my line was full of Texan cheerleaders I went out there and just had fun. No matter what happens I am very proud of my self.
-Inecia
Ok, so this is Jessi Waddle again. Yeah!!! I made it to the third round and feel like I did really well. It's now the round where the veterans will mix in with you and start their tryout process for this year and I was lucky enough to be next to Susannah, which is the one of the veterans, and she really pushed me to step up my game and try to really show that I can do this! I will check back in with y'all next round and if you see another blog from me, than I will have made it to the fourth round. Cross your fingers for me!!!=)
