League City PD reports road closures

The League City Police Department is reporting several road closures this morning due to accidents and extreme icy conditions.

Northbound and southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway are closed at League City Parkway due to a major accident and icy conditions.

Northbound and Southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway are closed at FM 646 due to icy conditions.

The bridge over FM 270 has been closed due to icy conditions.

The City of Webster tells us that the NASA Bypass is closed due to icy conditions. League City is notifying residents about these closures through our Blackboard Connect call system, our website and social media pages. Residents can reach the City to report dangerous conditions or for other concerns using our police department’s non-emergency line at 281-332-2566. Emergency calls should continue to be directed to 911. People in need of shelter should contact the state’s helpline by calling 211.
