Inside the memorial

Eyewitness News reporter Christine Dobbyn is covering the Michael Jackson memorial in Los Angeles.

Fans were urged to take their seats just a few minutes before the start of the service. Once the Jackson music stopped silence fell over the staples center.

Smokey Robinson read two tributes from Diana Ross and Nelson Mandela. There was a long pause and now the family is entering -- escorted by Reverend Jesse Jackson.

The crowd is mostly quiet, some snapping pictures and a few sporadic claps here and there.
